Norse Atlantic doubles passenger traffic in April

Norse Atlantic Airways more than doubled passenger numbers in April as the budget long-haul carrier stepped up operations for the summer.

The airline, which is planning to steadily increase capacity this summer, carried 98,500 passengers last month, an increase of 102 per cent on the previous April, as it operated 398 flights with an average load factor of 79 per cent, an improvement of 12 percentage points compared with April 2023.

Bjorn Tore Larsen, CEO and founder of Norse Atlantic, said: “April represented another strong month for Norse as we ramped up the number of flights as part of our summer schedule.

“In addition, we welcomed more than double the number of passengers compared to the same period last year and look forward to a busy summer ahead. We completed a record high of 61 charter operations throughout the month, as we now move to increase flying on our own network during the summer season.”

Norse Atlantic plans to operate 12 Boeing 787 Dreamliners this summer flying transatlantic routes from Oslo, Athens, London Gatwick, Berlin, Rome and Paris. The airline has also announced new routes for next winter from Gatwick to both Cape Town and Las Vegas.
