NFL expands reach in Europe with Las Vegas partnership | SportsMint Media

The National Football League (NFL) has announced a strategic partnership with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) to bolster its presence in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

This collaboration is aimed to capitalise on the growing popularity of American football in Europe, cementing Las Vegas as a premier international sports destination.

As part of the agreement, the LVCVA will serve as the lead partner for the NFL across the region throughout the 2024 season. Additionally, the tourism board will be the presenting partner for the NFL London Games 2024, featuring three thrilling matchups: New York Jets vs Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars vs Chicago Bears and New England Patriots vs Jacksonville Jaguars.

Steve Hill, President and Chief Executive of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, said, “Following an extremely successful Super Bowl LVIII, we are thrilled to continue our relationship with the NFL. The UK is Las Vegas’ top source of overseas visitation, and this partnership not only affords us visibility in an extremely important market but also the opportunity to further cement Las Vegas as a top international sports destination.”

The partnership comes on the heels of a record-breaking Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, which garnered significant global viewership, further solidifying the city’s reputation as a major sports hub.

The LVCVA, the official destination marketing organisation for Southern Nevada, has been instrumental in promoting Las Vegas as a premier destination for leisure and business travellers. In recent months, the board has partnered with major sporting events, including Formula 1 and the Premier League club, AFC Bournemouth.

The NFL’s partnership with the LVCVA is part of a broader strategy to expand its international footprint. The league recently announced partnerships with Sony, Accenture, Applebee’s, and Netflix.

As the new NFL season kicks off tomorrow with the defending champions Kansas City Chiefs facing off against Baltimore Ravens, this partnership marks an exciting milestone in the league’s global expansion.
