Wheels Up adds new features for European clients

Private aviation provider Wheels Up is to offer more services to clients based in Europe.

The company told BTN that it was introducing features for the European market such as access to fixed rates, as well as guaranteed availability and recovery. These features had previously only been available to US-based clients.

Atlanta-based Wheels Up is also introducing a 72-hour booking window and cancellation period for clients in Europe.

The company provides “on demand” private aviation through its own fleet of aircraft as well as a global network of safety vetted charter operators. It offers clients both charter and membership programmes.

Wheels Up has also added enhancements to its Custom Enterprise Solutions product for corporates.

Chief commercial officer Dave Harvey told BTN that memberships still start at $500,000 in pre-funded flight hours, and each contract is customised based on client flying patterns and flexibility needs.

Additional enhancements include a dedicated “global aviation expert” to support members, lower flight-hour minimums and cargo services, which range from one-to-one courier services to large-scale cargo moving solutions.

Wheels Up refined its pricing display and booking options in July for individual members, and has also streamlined its product model this year.

“We wanted to get the individual updates out there [first], that’s more broad-scale,” Harvey said. “Now’s the perfect time for business. You have a lot of the travel managers and decision makers really locked in here in September, October; on business travel, we always see a really nice uptick.”

Wheels Up increased its presence in Europe when it acquired UK-based private aviation firm Air Partner in early 2022, which continues to operate as a subsidiary of Wheels Up.
