Emily Pedersen looked disconsolate after missing a putt on the 14th green but a quiet word from captain Suzann Pettersen seemed to inspire her.

She hit a stunning putt at the 15th to seal that hole and then effectively clinched the point with a phenomenal approach shot at the 17th.

“Suzann just told us: “Keep two balls in play all the time and stay patient, you’re playing great’, which we have [been],” Pedersen said. “We just haven’t been holing putts, I feel like for two days.

“We have played some good golf and if we kept plugging away, the putts were going to drop – and they did.”
