BA to restart flights to Tbilisi

British Airways will recommence flights between London Heathrow and Tbilisi, Georgia, from 30 March 2025 after a 12-year hiatus.

The four-times-weekly service will be operated by Airbus A320neo aircraft that feature two cabins: Club Europe (business class) and Euro Traveller (economy).

Flights will depart Heathrow on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 21:25 and arrive in Tbilisi at 5:30 the following day. Meanwhile, services from Tbilisi depart on Wednesday at 7:10 and then on Friday, Sunday and Monday at 7:30 before arriving in London at 9:40 and 10:00, respectively.

According to the carrier, flight times have been “optimised” for connections at Heathrow to US destinations, such as New York, which aren’t directly served from Georgia.

British Airways’ chief planning and strategy officer, Neil Chernoff, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Tbilisi back into our route network, after our last scheduled service in 2013. We look forward to improving the connectivity between our two capital cities next year.”

Low-cost carrier easyJet is also planning to launch twice-weekly flights to Tbilisi from London Luton next summer.

The new service will commence on 1 April 2025 and will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer season. The budget carrier has also launched new routes to Tbilisi from Geneva and Milan Malpensa.
