TravelPerk partners with SilverRail to offer Amtrak services

TravelPerk has announced a new partnership with rail booking specialist SilverRail to allow the TMC’s customers to book Amtrak trains in the US.

SilverRail provides a booking, ticketing and after-sales platform for train travel using an API and agent tool.

Kristina Geier, TravelPerk’s VP of supplier partnerships, said: “Partnering with SilverRail enables us to deliver an excellent rail booking experience for our customers starting with this launch with Amtrak in the US.”

TravelPerk said there was “growing demand” for more sustainable business travel options including a “noticeable” increase in rail bookings.

The TMC’s data shows that while flights remain the predominant mode of transport for corporate journeys, the overall share of rail bookings compared with air travel has almost doubled from 17 per cent in 2019 to 33 per cent last year.
