Vietnam Airlines commences flights from Munich

Vietnam Airlines has commenced flights from Munich to both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The new services, announced earlier this year, operate twice weekly with Boeing 787-9 aircraft that include business, premium and economy cabins.

Flights to Hanoi depart on Monday and Saturday, while services to Ho Chi Minh City will run every Tuesday before increasing to twice weekly (Tuesday and Thursday) from December, 2024.

Munich Airport CEO, Jost Lammers, said: “The connections are a significant expansion of our Asia services and strengthen Munich Airport’s position as one of the leading aviation hubs in Europe. We are confident that these new direct flights will further enhance economic ties and cultural exchange between Bavaria and Vietnam.”

The Vietnamese carrier is rapidly expanding its European network, with plans to introduce a three-times weekly service between Hanoi and Milan from 1 July, 2025.

This is in addition to existing nonstop services from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Paris, Frankfurt and London.
