Amadeus signs new distribution deals with Delta and United

Travel technology giant Amadeus has agreed new distribution deals with major US carriers Delta Air Lines and United Airlines which both include NDC-based content.

The new “multi-year” global distribution agreement between Amadeus and Delta will include access to the “full range” of the airline’s content, including the forthcoming launch of its first NDC-enabled fares in 2025.

Delta has already announced new deals with Amadeus’ main rivals such as Travelport and Sabre, which also include the distribution of NDC content.

Jeff Lobl, Delta’s managing director of distribution strategy and agency sales programmes, said: “Delta is pleased to provide full content, including NDC, to our indirect channels as part of our comprehensive offering.

“Our renewed partnership with Amadeus including our value‑based commercial structure underscores our dedication to embracing innovative distribution strategies that directly benefit our customers.”

The agreement includes access to Delta’s content through platforms such as the Amadeus Selling Platform Connect, Amadeus Web Services and the Cytric Easy online booking tool.

Meanwhile, Amadeus has also signed an “enhanced” distribution agreement with United Airlines, giving access to a “wide range of content” through the travel tech company’s booking platforms, including both NDC and EDIFACT-based fares.

Kurt Van Meir, managing director of distribution at United, said: “Amadeus has been a vital distribution partner in the deployment of NDC, and we are delighted to accelerate that journey.

“We look forward to deepening our collaboration with Amadeus as we work together to create an enhanced shopping experience for travellers across every channel.”

Kamal Singhee, senior vice president, airlines, North America at Amadeus, added: “Our approach to delivering airline content combines technology, innovation and traveller-centric solutions to enable travel sellers to offer the right journeys to meet each traveller’s specific needs – all with a seamless shopping, booking and servicing experience.”
