European Hero Maja Stark Was An All-American: LPGA Pro’s USA Connection Explored
Remember the 2024 Solheim Cup? European golfer Maja Stark went head-to-head with Lauren Coughlin of the United States, putting up a tough fight that ended in a hard-earned half-point. But here’s the twist: Stark was once a rival on the U.S. team. Confused? Let’s break it down.
Stark is undoubtedly a golf star today, but her journey to becoming one started during college. She was a three-time winner in just two years at Oklahoma State University as per Golf Monthly. She even led the Cowgirls to the NCAA Championship final match and was named a first-team All-American by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association. Impressive, right? But wait, there’s more. She was also recognized as the Big 12 Golfer of the Year in 202-21.
So does this all affect her studies? Well, to everyone’s surprise, the athlete even excelled in studies by scoring a perfect 4.0 GPA in pre-psychology. She wrapped up her sophomore season ranked No. 4 nationally by GolfStat with a 49-2 record in head-to-head competition against top-100 players in the country. It’s fair to say that, she wasn’t just competing, she was dominating.
