easyJet expands cutting-edge pilot training operations to fuel European growth – Travel And Tour World

easyJet, Europe’s leading low-cost airline has announced a significant expansion of its pilot training operations across Europe, reinforcing its commitment to industry-leading standards and future growth.

This expansion, in partnership with renowned aviation training and simulation technology leader CAE, is set to bolster the airline’s capabilities as it scales operations across the continent.

Expanded Training Facilities at CAE London, Milan, Amsterdam

easyJet is investing in state-of-the-art flight simulators, adding two new full-flight simulators at CAE’s London Gatwick facility and one at CAE Milan.

Additionally, the airline will commence pilot training at CAE Amsterdam, which will exclusively house two full-flight simulators dedicated to easyJet’s training programs.

These new facilities are expected to begin operations by winter 2025.

Strategic Growth Across the UK and Europe

The airline’s training expansion aligns with its strategic growth plans, including a new three-aircraft base at London Southend set to launch in spring.

Further expansion in Italy is on the horizon, with plans for new bases at Milan Linate and Rome, pending European Commission approval.

To support its growing network, easyJet will also add nine new Airbus A320 aircraft to its fleet, following the delivery of 16 aircraft in the last financial year.

Advanced Training for Over 7,000 Pilots

With 19 flight simulators across three countries, easyJet’s pilot training centers will be among the most advanced globally.

Operating up to 20 hours daily during peak periods, these centers will meet the annual training needs of more than 7,000 pilots.

This includes newly qualified pilots, recurrent training for experienced aviators, and courses for Senior First Officers preparing to take on Captain roles.
