FedEx has introduced a new flight route which it says is to further strengthen connectivity between Asia Pacific (APAC), India, and Europe, enhancing flexibility and operational efficiency for APAC customers, particularly across critical trade lanes like Intra-Asia and Europe.
The new flight route connects FedEx’s APAC hub in Guangzhou, China, to Bangalore, India, the UAE, and onward to Liege and Paris in Europe, operating five times a week.
FedEx says the route provides businesses with enhanced flexibility during the critical holiday peak season.
Customers will benefit from reduced transit times by one day, ensuring next-day delivery to South India – a critical advantage for the high-tech and automotive industries in the region.
Moreover, the network adjustment allows businesses to manage imports and exports to and from India and Europe with increased service reliability.
A recent FedEx survey reveals that APAC businesses are anticipating year-on-year sales growth this holiday season, highlighting the strategic importance of this new flight route.
As of FY24, China continues to be India’s largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching $118.4 billion – $101.7 billion in imports from China and $16.67 billion in exports to China. The Asia-to-Europe corridor remains one of the world’s busiest, with China leading in exports of machinery, electronics, and high-tech goods, which make up a large portion of the region’s exports.
Kawal Preet, president for Asia Pacific at FedEx, said: “Asia Pacific businesses are increasingly prioritising cross-border trade, and building a resilient global network is vital to unlocking growth opportunities. This air network enhancement is a reflection of our confidence in the future of Asia Pacific and allows us to provide smarter logistics solutions connecting businesses flexibly, efficiently, and intelligently to key markets.
“As demand for timely deliveries continues to rise, we are committed to providing seamless, faster, and more reliable service, helping businesses thrive during this peak holiday season and beyond.”
