Cathay Pacific to add Munich and Brussels routes in 2025
Cathay Pacific is to increase its European routes in 2025 with the launch of flights between Munich and Hong Kong, as well as resuming services from Brussels.
The airline will start the Munich-Hong Kong route on 16 June with four flights per week. Cathay already operates between Frankfurt and Hong Kong.
Cathay will then restart flights from Brussels to Hong Kong on 3 August, which will also operate four times per week. The route was suspended in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The carrier will operate Airbus A350-900 aircraft on both the Munich and Brussels routes, which will be fitted with business, premium economy and economy cabins.
Lavinia Lau, Cathay’s chief customer and commercial officer, said: “We are very excited to be adding Munich to our network for the very first time, as well as returning to Brussels next year, making these our 10th and 11th destinations in Europe, respectively.
“Cathay Pacific has been flying non-stop to Europe for over four decades and we remain very committed to this important market. In addition to launching these two routes, we are delighted to be adding more flights on our other European routes next summer.”
The airline plans to operate a total of 93 return flights per week to Europe in summer 2025, up from its current 78 flights per week to the continent.
This schedule will include five daily flights from London Heathrow, as well as daily services to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Manchester, Milan, Paris and Zurich. Cathay will also fly to both Madrid and Barcelona four times per week next summer – the latter route operates as a seasonal summer service.
