EasyJet to expand regional network in 2025

Budget airline easyJet will expand its European network in 2025 with plans to launch six new routes from four UK airports in the upcoming summer season.

New services include flights to Milan Linate from Manchester and Edinburgh and two new routes from Birmingham, where the carrier recently expanded its operations, to both Gibraltar and Bordeaux.

EasyJet also plans to grow its UK fleet with an additional A320 aircraft at its Bristol base, which will support the launch of two new routes – one to Almeria, Spain from 24 June and another to Palermo, Italy from 26 June. Services on both routes will operate twice weekly.

Services to Linate from Manchester and Edinburgh will commence on 30 March and will operate “up to seven days a week”, the carrier said. This service will be in addition to the carrier’s existing flights to Milan Malpensa as well as its daily service from London Gatwick to Milan Linate.

The new Linate routes are the result of the recent Lufthansa-ITA Airways merger and form part of the package of remedies that was approved by the European Commission earlier this month. The remedy package will also see easyJet establish a three-aircraft base at Rome Fiumicino from 30 March 2025.

Meanwhile, flights on the seasonal Birmingham-Bordeaux route will commence from 1 May and will operate twice weekly. The new year-round Birmingham-Gibraltar service will also operate twice weekly from 1 June.
