Air Astana to add new route from Frankfurt

Air Astana is to increase its presence in Germany by adding a new route between Almaty and Frankfurt.

The Kazakhstan-based carrier will launch the Almaty-Frankfurt route on 1 June, which will operate three times per week using Airbus A321LR aircraft.

Air Astana already operates flights from Frankfurt to Kazakhstan’s capital Astana, as well as to Uralsk in the west of the country. The carrier has been offering flights from Germany since 2003.

Outbound flights from Almaty will depart at 1.30am for arrival in Frankfurt at 6.55am, with the return service departing Frankfurt at 8.30am for arrival at Almaty at 6.55pm.

The airline said in a statement that the minimum fare for a round-trip economy class ticket on the new route would be US$550. Tickets for the Almaty-Frankfurt service are now on sale.
