Accor to expand Mövenpick brand across Europe
Accor is expanding its footprint in Poland with plans to open two Mövenpick-branded hotels in Wrocław and Karpacz “later this month”, the hospitality group announced on Wednesday (8 January).
The impending openings of the Mövenpick Grand Hotel Wrocław and Mövenpick Resort & Spa Karpacz will mark the upscale brand’s debut in the country and follow its recent entry into Belgium and Azerbaijan.
The 180-room Mövenpick Grand Hotel Wrocław is housed in a renovated historic building with a restaurant, bar and “versatile” meeting space in the heart of the city.
Meanwhile, Mövenpick Resort & Spa Karpacz, in the country’s southwest, offers 126 rooms with heated outdoor swimming pools, a wellness area and spa. There’s also access to a nearby ski station and hiking trails.
Philippe Bijaoui, chief development officer of Accor’s premium, midscale and economy division in Europe and North Africa, said accelerating the group’s portfolio of premium brands is “a core part” of its growth strategy.
Accor is planning to debut the Mövenpick brand in Italy, Greece and Montenegro later this year. The 227-room Mövenpick Hotel Budapest Centre will also reopen in 2025 following an extensive renovation project.
