Accor’s Handwritten Collection set for European expansion

Accor’s Handwritten Collection of independent hotels is adding several new properties across Europe in the coming months.

The collection brand, which was launched in early 2023 for hotels in the midscale segment, will bolster its European portfolio by adding properties in destinations such as Düsseldorf, Nicosia in Cyprus and the Albanian capital Tirana. 

Handwritten’s first outpost in Germany will be the 60-room MUZE Hotel Düsseldorf, which is due to open in November.

Other imminent additions include The Classic Hotel Nicosia and Hotel Ter Zand in the Netherlands city of Zeeland, which will both become part of the collection later this month. They will also be joined this autumn by Adorn Tirana – Handwritten’s first property in Albania.

Handwritten already has a strong presence in France and an eighth property in the country, Fort Saint-Laurent Hôtel & Spa in Lyon, is due to debut later this month.

Looking further ahead, Tecadra Bucharest Hotel in the Romanian capital is set to open in 2025 followed by La Maison Fraiture in Belgium in 2026.

Currently, the Handwritten Collection consists of 17 hotels in 11 countries, including open properties in Australia, France and China.
