Air Canada and airBaltic expand codeshare deal

Air Canada and airBaltic have agreed an expanded codeshare deal to apply on routes to the Baltic countries of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

The agreement covers 10 routes operated by airBaltic from Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius to European destinations such as Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Stockholm. It applies for travel from 6 November.

As part of the deal, airBaltic will also place its code on Air Canada’s services from Toronto to Copenhagen and Amsterdam from the same date. This will be extended to Air Canada’s seasonal services from Montreal to Copenhagen and Amsterdam, as well as Toronto to Stockholm for summer 2025.

Martin Gauss, president and CEO of airBaltic, said: “This new codeshare partnership will now offer both airBaltic and Air Canada travellers expanded travel options between all three Baltic capitals and Canada, with a seamless one-stop connection through other European cities.”

Air Canada has also just started a new Calgary-London Heathrow-New Delhi service, which will operate during the winter season until 29 March 2025. This in addition to the carrier’s existing seasonal route between Toronto and Mumbai, via Heathrow. Both routes take advantage of “fifth freedom” flying rights.
