All you need to know about the Euro 2024 final as England eye glory in Berlin
All eyes are now focused on the Euro 2024 final this weekend after England booked their place to face Spain in UEFA’s showpiece match.
The Three Lions are into the final of the European Championship for the second consecutive time after a dramatic 2-1 win over the Netherlands.
Gareth Southgate‘s men were defeated by Italy in the Euro 2020 final at Wembley three years ago, and they will look to put that right on Sunday to win the tournament for the first time.
Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins was the hero for England in the semi-finals, coming off the bench to fire a dramatic last-gasp winner.
It will be England’s first final on foreign soil after the 1966 World Cup final and the Euro 2020 finals were played at Wembley.

England vs Spain: Team news
Luke Shaw is in line to make his first start of the tournament in the final having continued his comeback with another 45 minutes in the semi-final.
The Manchester United defender will slot in as left-wing back at the expense of Kieran Trippier to deal with teenage sensation Lamine Yamal.
That is likely to be Southgate’s only change, with Harry Kane leading the line despite Ollie Watkins’ heroics against the Dutch.
Spain meanwhile will get a double defensive boost for Sunday’s final.
Both Robin Le Normand and Dani Carvajal will return from suspensions that sidelined them for the semi-final win over France.
La Roja are also hopeful Alvaro Morata will be fit after a bizarre incident during their semi-final celebrations saw a security guard slip and crash into his knee during attempts to stop a pitch invader.
England vs Spain: Path to glory
England topped Group C despite some underwhelming performances and then needed heroics from Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane to see off Slovakia in the extra-time in the last-16.
They then needed spot-kicks to see off Switzerland in the quarter-finals after a 1-1 draw, with Trent Alexander-Arnold scoring the winning penalty.
Having now seen off the Dutch, it is a meeting with Spain in the final.
Meanwhile, Spain are the top scorers at Euro 2024 and have beaten every team they’ve played.

England vs Spain: What has been said?
Ollie Watkins predicted England’s winning goal when speaking to Cole Palmer before the game.
He revealed post-match: “I’ve been waiting for that moment for weeks. It’s taken a lot of hard work to get to where I am today. I’m delighted.
“I swear on my life that I said to Cole Palmer that he’s going to set me up today and I’m going to score. It’s the best feeling ever.
“There’s been a lot of criticism but we’re in the final and that’s all that matters. We’ve got that bounce back factor. Going behind seems to kick us into gear. We’ve won on penalties and come from behind.”
Jude Bellingham reacted: “We’re going to get criticism when we don’t play well but it’s important that we build that resistance to it and we come together and win these games. These moments are great, it brings us together as a team and a family. These moments make us more toegther and we take it into the final now.
“Ollie Watkins came on and took his opportunity. I’m buzzing for him. You’re not starting every game like you would for your club and it’s difficult.
“Spain have looked amazing, they’ve looked really good. We’ll sit down and understand how they play.”
