Japanese airline ANA has commenced flights between Tokyo and Milan as part of a major expansion of its European network.

Non-stop flights between Tokyo Haneda and Milan Malpensa will operate three times weekly on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Flights depart Milan at 10:30 and arrive in Tokyo at 7:30 the following day. Meanwhile, flights from Japan depart at 1:05 and arrive in the Italian city at 8:30.

The service is operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft, which feature 48 seats in business class, 21 in premium economy, and 146 economy seats.

ANA president and CEO Shinichi Inoue said: “We are truly delighted to launch our first non-stop flight from Italy to Japan. Milan is a key European destination for both business and leisure travel and serves as a gateway to Italy for Japanese travellers.”

The carrier’s expanding European network also includes flights to London, Frankfurt, Brussels, Paris, Munich and Vienna, with new services to Stockholm and Istanbul to commence in Q1 2025.
