Bacta look forward to forging constructive relationship with new Gambling Minister
I’m entering a random casino, scanning the faces and sensing the vibes. It’s mostly a jolly atmosphere, excitement which you can feel in the air. Well, dopamine being released. Strong hormones can reveal in a variety of moments in our daily life, even in the smaller, simple ones, such as simply watching a movie.
Back to our reels now. Would you ever try watching a movie or TV series called “Gates of Olympus”, “Money Train”, “Book of Dead” or “Asgardian Rising”? Some might fall in the Fantasy category, others may pull a laugh or two and settle for Comedy, while most seem to fit into the Adventure area. And I think most of us would be intrigued by these titles.
We’re talking about slot games and their appeal to pretty much all ages and all tastes. Why not turn some of them into movie scripts? The other way around has happened many time for sure.
We’ve had our share of fun and imagined such a movie script for one of the most popular casino games, Book of Dead slot.
What’s the plotline? Similar to most Indiana Jones type of movies, it’s all about looking for ancient artefacts, and the journey is filled with adrenaline and fun trivia facts. The Book of Dead has been stolen, and a powerful, knowledge rich team builds up in order to find the artifact and make sure the world is saved (since the Book reveals a mysterious secret which could destroy the world).
Let’s think of an opening scene. A romantic sunset over the pyramids, small waves of sand covering the camera and making your eyes twitch. A group of people can be seen from afar, making grand gestures. As we approach, we can hear them whispering and intensely debating. It’s Dr. Abigail Connor, Sam Peters, Professor Johnson and his big boy, Rich Wilde.
They’ve uncovered the secret tomb where the Book of Dead was supposed to be buried, but to everybody’s surprise, there’s nothing to be found inside. They’ve decided to go back to the tomb and look for further clues as to where the book might have disappeared. The second part of the search reveals a secret chamber, where key symbols are uncovered.
Characters. Rich Wilde is a fun, charismatic adventurer, always looking for a new challenge and a new artifact to find (and get a nice reward in return). However, in case of the Book of Dead, the stakes are much higher to him. Higher than the destruction of the world, really? Well, actually, yes. He believes there’s a secret way to bring back his wife from the dead and the powerful book holds the key.
Dr Abigail is a sweet, shy lady, mid 30s, conservative and a bit obsessive compulsive. She is a workaholic, but prefers indoor activities more. Her interest in the Book of Dead comes from childhood memories, from her grandfather’s goodnight tales.
Professor Johnson on the other hand, is a restless 60 years old man, quite a fan of outdoor adventures. He’ll never stop looking, especially when his son’s peace and happiness might be at stake here. His knowledge is clearly the greatest from the whole group and will bring a lot to benefit, except when he constantly puts himself in danger and needs saving.
Sam Peters. He’s a retired cop, playing online slot machines and watching soppy TV series. He’s mostly interested in finding the book for financial reasons, no romance here whatsoever. He does prove to be quite heroic and helpful in the end.
There you go, now make a nice cocktail of handsome or charismatic actors, a lot of free falling, exotic animals attacking in unexpected moments, surprise surprise … underground hidden chambers and, of course, some dark jokes, and you’ve got yourself a box office hit.
