Corinthia opens long-awaited Brussels hotel
Upmarket hotel brand Corinthia has opened its long-awaited property in Brussels following the renovation of a historic hotel in the centre of the Belgian capital.
Corinthia Brussels in Rue Royale is located within the former Grand Hotel Astoria, which has been closed since 2007. The hotel officially reopened on Monday (9 December).
The renovated property features 126 rooms and suites, alongside a Palm Court, two restaurants from Michelin-starred Belgian chefs David Martin and Christophe Hardiquest, as well as a cocktail bar and extensive spa.
The hotel’s Salon Elisabeth also provides flexible space for events such as dinners, screenings and press conferences.
Grand Hotel Astoria first opened in 1910 after being commissioned by the royal decree of King Leopold II. The building has been undergoing renovation since Corinthia acquired it in 2016.
Simon Casson, CEO of Corinthia Hotels, said, “The reopening of Corinthia Brussels marks an exciting chapter for both our brand and the city. This project isn’t just about restoring a hotel – it’s about redefining what luxury hospitality can be.
“By collaborating with some of Belgium’s most forward-thinking craftspeople and gastronomic minds, we’re challenging conventions and creating something truly special.”
