Emirates resumes daily flights to Edinburgh

Emirates resumed daily flights from Dubai to Edinburgh this week, following a four-year hiatus in the wake of the pandemic.

The daily service, first announced in May, departs Dubai at 14:50 and arrives in the Scottish capital at 19:05. Meanwhile, flights from Edinburgh depart at 20:40 and arrive in Dubai at 08:05 the following day.

Flights will initially be operated on the carrier’s Boeing 777 aircraft ahead of the arrival of its first set of A350 aircraft, which is expected by the end of the year. The new aircraft will feature the airline’s refreshed business cabin along with premium economy and economy cabins.

The resumed route is in addition to the carrier’s daily service to Glasgow as well as existing flights to London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham and Newcastle.

Commenting on the restored connection, Edinburgh Airport CEO Gordon Dewar, said: “Direct connectivity to Dubai is something that will be welcomed by both business and leisure passengers, while the onward connections through the vast Emirates network also opens up a plethora of opportunities for travel.”
