EVA Air signs deal with Sabre for NDC content

Asian carrier EVA Air’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) content is now available through Sabre’s global distribution system (GDS) for Sabre-connected agencies.

The integration allows “travel agencies and corporate buyers to compare flight options” and shop, book and service EVA Air’s NDC content alongside traditional options, according to a statement from Sabre.

Eric Chiu, EVA Air’s vice president, digital and information planning, called the announcement “an exciting milestone” in the expansion of its distribution strategy.

“By participating in Sabre’s extensive global marketplace and activating NDC capabilities, we are able to deliver an even higher level of service to travellers,” added Chiu.

Last year, EVA Air agreed an extended distribution deal with another GDS owner, Travelport, which also included the airline’s NDC content.

Star Alliance member EVA Air, which is based in Taiwan, currently operates around 60 international routes, including services to Europe and North America. European destinations include London, Amsterdam, Paris, Vienna, Milan and Munich.
