Football Accumulator Tips: Thursday’s 42/1 punt from across Europe

Thursday means a return to busy European action with a host of competitions on the schedule including games in Serie A, the Portuguese League Cup and the Swiss Super League.

Our footie tipster, Sam Farley, has rolled up his sleeves and picked out a punt of five selected matches.

5:30pm Genoa v FiorentinaFiorentina half time/full time
7:30pm Servette v LuzernServette to win
7:45pm Como v LazioBoth teams to score: Yes
7:45pm AS Roma v TorinoNiccolo Pisili to commit 2+ fouls
8:45pm Porto v MoreirensePorto half time/full time

Genoa v Fiorentina – Fiorentina half time/full time

Genoa lost at the weekend and find themselves in the relegation zone with just one solitary win in their opening nine league games of the season. They’ve lost four of their last five, and welcome Fiorentina to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris – who are on a three-game winning spree – and have been excellent at times this season. The Viola have scored the third most goals in Serie A, averaging over two per game, and allowed the third fewest too. Not only that, they’ve been winning at halftime and fulltime in their last three league games.

Servette v Luzern – Servette to win

It’s tight at the top of the Swiss Super League with Servette just two points clear of FC Zurich and Lugano. Servette have won three of their last four, and are averaging just shy of two goals per game, with Dereck Kutesa the league’s top scorer with eight goals in eleven matches. They get a visit from Luzern at the right time, with the visitors enduring a poor spell, via one win in three games, with back-to-back defeats seeing them give up five goals.

Como v Lazio – Both teams to score: Yes

Coma sit 13th in Serie A, but just one point clear of the relegation spots. The newly promoted team have been unlucky in many respects. They outplayed Torino last time out, but gave away a sloppy goal, to snatch defeat from a well-earned point. They’ve scored 11 goals so far, more than some teams around them, with Patrick Cutrone bagging four in just nine games. The issue has been at the back, where they’ve let in 16 goals. That’s bad news with Lazio in town, fresh off the back of a comfortable 3-0 home win over Genoa at the weekend.

AS Roma v Torino – Niccolo Pisili to commit 2+ fouls

20-year old Niccolo Pisili is likely to start in the heart of AS Roma’s midfield, which is good news for punters and bad news for Torino players. The homegrown talent has only started four of his seven Serie A appearances this year, but racked up 11 fouls. When you break it down into on-pitch minutes, he’s averaging 2.66 fouls per 90 played. In a tough game against Torino, who sit four points clear of Roma, we could see plenty more fouls.

Porto v Moreirense – Porto half time/full time

Porto are second in their domestic league, three points behind Sporting Lisbon, who may be set to lose their manager to Man United. They’ve lost just once this year, to Sporting, and are brushing teams aside. They’ve scored 23 league goals in nine games and conceded just two. They have a home game in the cup against seventh placed Moreirense, who are scoring and averaging over a goal per game. There’s a gulf in quality between the two teams and even with some rotation we’ll be able to see that difference in talent levels.
