The European football transfer window got underway earlier this summer and with less than a week for a majority of domestic leagues to get underway, several players are on the move from one club to another. The biggest move of this transfer window has unarguably been Real Madrid’s much-anticipated signing of French superstar Kylian Mbappe, and that too on a free transfer.

Who are the big names who have found new clubs ahead of the 2024-25 season? We take a look:

Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid: After leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the 2023-24 season, it was highly expected that Mbappe would join Real Madrid. On 3 June, a few weeks before the transfer window officially opened, Real Madrid officially announced the
signing of the 25 year-old on a free transfer.

Mbappe’s contract is reportedly worth €15 million a year post taxes, with the forward receiving €85 million as a signing bonus.

Alvaro Morata to AC Milan: AC Milan recently announced the signing of Spanish striker Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid, with the Italian giants triggering a release clause of (€13 million from Atletico. Morata has joined AC Milan on a four-year deal.

Pedro Neto to Chelsea: Chelsea
have signed Portuguese winger Pedro Neto from Premier League rivals Wolves for a reported fee of  £54 million. He has signed a seven-year deal with the London club.

Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid: Argentina’s FIFA World Cup winner Julian Alvarez
signed for Atletico Madrid, thus ending his two-year stay at Manchester City. Alvarez joins Atletico for £81.5m on a six-year contract.

Dougal Luiz to Juventus: Juventus signed Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa for a fee of €50 million.

Dominic Solanke to Tottenham: Dominic Solanke signed for Tottenham Hotspur from Bournemouth on a reported deal of £65 million. Solanke has signed a six-year contract

Leny Yoro to Manchester United: Teenage sensation Leny Yoro has joined Manchester United from French club Lille for a fee of €62 million.

Dani Olmo to Barcelona: Spain’s Euro 2024 winner Dani Olmo has joined Barcelona from German outfit RB Leipzig in a reported deal worth €60 million.

Michael Olise to Bayern Munich: Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City were heavily linked with French attacking midfielder Michael Olise, but Bayer Munich have come out on top in this. Olise joins Bayern for €60 million.

Fabio Carvalho to Brentford: Brentford signed Portuguese winger Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool in a deal that is worth £27.5 million, including add-ons.
