Former American Airlines exec Benedetti joins Blockskye

Former American Airlines global head of corporate sales joins Blockskye as the company’s chief commercial officer

Hank Benedetti, the former global head of corporate sales at American Airlines, has joined Blockskye as chief commercial officer.

He will oversee the blockchain solution provider’s commercial strategy, ‘leading initiatives to expand the company’s market presence and drive revenue growth’ in the travel and expense management industry.

Benedetti, who began working as a consultant with the company earlier this year, will cease other consultancy roles including his work with airline distribution specialist Garner Advisory.

Michael Share, co-founder and co-CEO of Blockskye, said: “His extensive experience in the travel industry and his deep understanding of corporate sales will be invaluable as we continue to grow and innovate. Hank’s leadership and vision will help us further strengthen our market position and deliver exceptional value to our customers.”

Benedetti added: “Blockskye is at the forefront of transforming travel and expense management through blockchain technology. I look forward to working with this talented team to deliver innovative solutions in how businesses book, pay and track travel.”

In addition, Blockskye last month announced the appointment of former CWT exec Erik Magnuson as chief operating officer following the promotion of Dave Zitur to president.

Blockskye was a key partner in the pioneering work undertaken by PwC’s Danielle Cavnor and Eric Gray that saw them named BTN’s 2023 Travel Managers of the Year.
