Inaugural Vilamoura Pro-Am targets Europe’s elite

PGA Professionals and amateur golfers will have the chance to compete across three of the Algarve’s best golf courses following the unveiling of a new tournament, the Vilamoura Pro-Am, set to take place in February 2025.

At the inaugural edition, an initial prize fund of €70,000 will see each participating PGA Professional receive an initial fee upon entry, with the winning team collecting a coveted trophy and gifts.

PGA Professionals and amateurs interested in entering should visit www.vilamoura-pro-am.com to register their teams.

The iconic Portuguese venue’s Old Course, Millennium and Pinhal courses, part of Dom Pedro Golf Vilamoura, will host one practice round and three days of competition, as well as a range of energising evening entertainment and prize-giving from February 10-14, 2025.

The Old Course, the second oldest in the Algarve, is undergoing significant improvements and along with the Pinhal and Millennium courses will form the competitive stage for a field of 300 golfers from across the world. One practice round will take place on February 10 before three rounds of competition play from February 11-13.

Throughout the competition, participants will also have the opportunity to experience the very best of Vilamoura with luxury accommodation available across a variety of 5-star hotels in the region.

Nuno Sepulveda, Co-Chief Executive Officer at DETAILS – Hospitality, Sports, Leisure, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for some of Europe’s best pros and ambitious amateurs to play in the incredible setting of Vilamoura. We are so proud to be staging this first Pro-Am here. The courses and facilities will be in spectacular condition when we welcome the players, and they can look forward to competing on one of the most stunning stages in European golf.”

As well as competing against the finest in Europe, players will be treated to a welcome reception on the night before the competition, a dinner & party after the second of three 18-hole tournament days, and a farewell dinner and prize-giving to wrap the event up on February 13.
