Incredible train journey through Europe’s ‘most beautiful’ scenery

This incredible journey through Switzerland is one you won’t want to miss out on.

On the Glacier Express, you’ll have the opportunity to travel through the Swiss Alps in style.

A journey in Excellence Class on this luxury train will guarantee you a window seat and incredible panoramic views while travelling across 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels between St. Moritz and Zermatt.

One guest on Tripadvisor said: “This was one of our ‘bucket list’ items. We had to book way back in April because every seat in Excellence Class was sold out until September – not difficult to understand as the journey, the food and the service was superb.

“We were welcomed on board in Zermatt and our luggage was taken away and stored for us, and we were then given a couple of glasses of champagne to start the journey.

“There are only twenty seats in this immaculately clean and comfortable carriage so there was no problem with being served or being able to take lots of photos of the stunning scenery through the panoramic windows. There is even an individual iPad at each seat so you can track your progress through the stunning scenery.

“We were served a six course meal with accompanying wines which was outstanding and for us was on a par with any top restaurant. We had a truly memorable day.”

To travel on this train, it’s not as pricey as you might think. A ticket from St. Moritz to Zermatt is a total of £241 which isn’t a lot considering the high luxury experience of the train.

Not only does the train pass through beautiful scenery but you’ll also be able to make the most of seeing St Moritz and Zermatt.

In Zermatt, you’ll find the famous Matterhorn mountain which is an incredible feature of the area and its most popular place to visit. St. Moritz is one of the most exclusive towns in Switzerland and has been called a glittery “winter playground” by Condé Nast Traveller.
