The Institute of Travel Management (ITM) has appointed four travel buyers as new members of the organisation’s board of directors.
The appointments to the board were announced at the ITM’s annual general meeting, which was held digitally on Tuesday (2 July). The four buyers were selected following an application and interview process.
The newcomers are: Danny Cockton, VP of global travel services at Wood Plc; Sue Jones, global meeting and travel manager at IKEA franchisee Ingka Group; Wayne Lappage, senior global commodity manager for travel and expense at Yunex Traffic; and Nicholas Nelson, EY’s global lodgings and EMEIA developed markets travel, meetings and events leader.
Standing down from the ITM board after completing their terms in office are Imogen Furness, global travel manager at WTW, and Martin Ferguson, VP of public affairs at American Express Global Business Travel.
Nikki Parsons, chair of ITM’s board of directors, said: “I am delighted to welcome Danny, Sue, Nicholas and Wayne to the ITM board. The board and I look forward to working with them as we make progress with our strategic objectives and continue providing the exceptional support to our members that ITM is renowned for.”
The board’s responsibilities include overseeing the ITM’s strategic direction, financial health and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
