Nike Third Kits Celebrating Women’s Sport Highlight Recent Unveilings Around Europe

Nike is celebrating “the ascendancy of women’s sport” with its new set of third kits for some of Europe’s highest profile soccer teams.

Nike released the kits en masse on Tuesday, August 27. European clubs included in the collection include Chelsea FC, Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur (England); Atlético de Madrid (Spain) and Inter Milan (Italy). It aims to incorporate “each club’s distinct identity, story and community while celebrating the ascendency of the women’s game,” according to a press release.

All the kits feature a double Nike swoosh on the right chest that is oriented vertically as a nod “to the acceleration of the women’s game.”

Designed in close partnership with clubs throughout Europe and Latin America, the all-gender collection reflects Nike’s belief that women and girls are on the leading edge of change, redefining the parameters of sport and how it serves the next generation.

The collection also includes kits for Liga MX teams Club América and Pumas, as well as Brazilian club Corinthians.

Here’s a look at the Nike kits, plus several others that have been unveiled across Europe in recent days:

LIVERPOOL FC – Third

English side Liverpool FC put their “rebellious by design” nature on display with their new Nike third kit for 2024-25. The predominantly white kits features a tonal pattern that’s “a celebration of female punk artists who pioneered a new sound in the city” and also incorporates Liver bird feathers. The V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs are red with gold trim, and red piping runs down each shoulder.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR – Third

Fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have gone all-green for their 2024-25 Nike third kit. The kit features a tonal pattern inspired by the neighborhood of north London the club calls home — specifically the Seven Sisters, “a ring of seven trees that have stood in South Tottenham for hundreds of years, captivating local residents for generations. Legend has it that the original elms were planted in the 1300s by seven sisters from a local family.” Tottenham’s traditional cockerel crest appears inside a green shield on the left chest. The shirt has a green foldover collar and green sleeve cuffs with light green and yellow trim.

CHELSEA FC – Third

Fittingly given the theme of Nike’s collection, Chelsea’s women’s team debuted their new third kits during a preseason friendly against fellow FA Women’s Super League side Arsenal in Washington, D.C., on Sunday, August 25. The black kit has a tonal pattern on the front and neon pink accents to celebrate “the explosion of fresh creativity and attitude that shook west London and the world far beyond five decades ago, and thrust youth to the fore in a way that still resonate today.” The lion from Chelsea’s main crest is isolated and rendered in pink on the left chest. The sleeve cuffs and side panels are diagonally split between pink and yellow.

🇮🇹 INTER MILAN – Third

Defending Serie A champions Inter Milan “pays homage to the city’s artists and designers that have gone against the tide using an unusual style” with their 2024-25 Nike third kits. The shirt is predominantly yellow, with a navy halftone pattern along the sides and the sleeves. The Inter crest is rendered in navy blue and sits in the middle of the chest. The V-neck collar is navy blue on the left half, and the sleeve cuffs are also navy.

🇪🇸 ATLÉTICO DE MADRID – Third

Spanish La Liga side Atlético Madrid’s 2024-25 Nike third kit is “characterised by its dynamism, reflected through modern strokes of various shades of blue, both lighter and darker than the predominant deep navy,” according to the club’s website. The tonal pattern on the front and sleeves depicts various art forms, and is anchored by a navy blue collar, sleeve cuffs and side panels. The club crest and Nike swoosh stand out in pink, and the swoosh is positioned next to a trident in the pattern, “an essential symbol of (Atlético’s) history.”

EVERTON FC – Third

Meanwhile in England, Premier League side Everton take inspiration from a different sport for their 2024-25 third kit, made by Hummel. The off-white kit with subtle pinstripes marks the 100th anniversary of an exhibition baseball game played at Everton’s home ground, Goodison Park, between the Chicago White Sox and the New York Giants on October 23, 1924. The V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs are charcoal grey with yellow stripes through the middle, matching the aesthetic of Everton’s away kit for 2024-25. The club crest and sponsor logos are rendered in one-color charcoal grey.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST – Third

Premier League side Nottingham Forest have rounded out their wardrobe for 2024-25 with their light blue Adidas third kit, which they debuted on Saturday, August 26, against Southampton. The kit features a subtle wave pattern on the front and back, and the collar, sleeve cuffs and Adidas shoulder stripes are all the same light blue shade as the rest of the shirt. The club crest and sponsor logos stand out in white.

🇮🇹 AS ROMA – Third

Italian Serie A side AS Roma completes its trilogy of 2024-25 Adidas kits paying tribute to the Testaccio neighborhood of Rome with its new third kit, which was launched on Tuesday. The base of the shirt is navy blue, with tapered maroon inserts at the shoulders, maroon and gold side panels and gold striping on the collar. The retro monogram crest has the letters “ASR” in gold on a black circle with a maroon border, while the sponsor logos are gold. The gold numbers on the back feature a tonal pattern that resembles the street pavement in the Testaccio neighborhood.

🇮🇹 VENEZIA FC – Away

Elsewhere in Italy, Serie A side Venezia FC once again gave us the first look at one of their new kits on the pitch on Saturday, August 25, when they debuted their Nocta away kit against ACF Fiorentina. The white shirt features swooping orange, black and green stripes on the sleeves and side panels, while the front of the shirt has tonal pinstripes forming a V on the chest and a tonal noise pattern near the hem. Contrasting black stitching runs along the seams of the raglan sleeves. The Nocta logo and a black Venezia crest sit in the middle of the chest.

🇫🇷 OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS – Third

French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais’s 2024-25 third jersey, made by Adidas, is “a true celebration of the architectural heritage and a tribute to the cultural heritage of the city” of Lyon, according to the club’s website. The shades of beige, pink and terracotta on the shirt celebrate Vieux Lyon and its architecture. The base of the shirt is beige, the right raglan sleeve is pink and the left sleeve is terracotta. The Adidas shoulder stripes, club crest and sponsor logos are all a darker shade of red to stand out against the other colors.
