“I am extremely pleased to welcome Jorge Gervasi, an executive with extensive experience in managing international operations in various markets, and who will undoubtedly add huge value to our organisation. His strategic vision and ability to lead multinational teams will be critical to driving our growth and consolidating our presence in Western Europe,” said Pepco’s managing director Barry Williams about the new COO, underlining that “[Gervasi’s] arrival will strengthen our operations” and “will enable us to achieve new levels of excellence.”

Gervasi, a law graduate from the University of León, has extensive experience in the sector, having held senior positions in groups such as Grand Vision, a specialist optical retailer. Between 2019 and 2023, Gervasi was the CEO of EssilorLuxottica USA.

“It is an honour for me to join Pepco’s management team and help expand the group’s business model in Western Europe, affirming Pepco as one of the leading value retailers in its industry and replicating the success it has achieved in Eastern Europe. I am convinced that we will achieve new milestones and consolidate our position as market leaders,” said Gervasi.

Pepco is currently growing vigorously in the Iberian peninsula, having doubled its presence in Spain in just one year, operating 233 stores. The value retailer was founded in 2004 and is currently active in 18 European countries through a retail network of over 3,700 stores. Together with Poundland and Dealz, Pepco is part of the Pepco Group, 79% owned by the Steinhoff holding company, which also owns Conforama.
