PS Portal Named July’s Best-Selling Accessory In Europe, EA Sports FC 24 Tops Software Chart – PlayStation Universe

The latest GfK data has revealed that PlayStation Portal was the best-selling accessory in Europe for the month of July 2024.

The device, which launched late last year and allows you to play PS5 games over Wi-Fi via Remote Play using the built-in screen, has been selling a lot better than Sony expected, and sales are showing no signs of slowing down. In second place, the standard white DualSense controller is still pulling in the punters.

GfK’s Dorion Bloch commented:

In the UK, the Sony Playstation Portal Remote Player has been consistently the No1 or No2 best-selling gaming accessory by revenue since launch in November 2023. Only in January this year was it outside the top two due to stock issues.

Elsewhere, EA Sports FC 24 topped the software charts in Europe for the same month, and was followed by Grand Theft Auto V, which has been a perennial chart feature pretty much since its launch over a decade ago. It’s also the summer time, which is traditionally slow period for new releases before the big September — December blowout.
