Radisson Collection announces plans for first Madrid hotel
Radisson Hotel Group has announced details of its first Radisson Collection property in Madrid.
The 154-room hotel, which is due to open in 2027, will be created from the redevelopment of the historic Generali buildingin the centre of the Spanish capital.
The Radisson Collection hotel will take up the top 10 floors of the redeveloped building on Alcala Street. There will be two restaurants, including a rooftop venue on the 13th floor, as well as a fitness centre and spa. The building’s ground floor will be occupied by high-end shops.
Federico González, executive vice chairman of Radisson Hotel Group, said: “The arrival of our lifestyle luxury Radisson Collection brand in Madrid will be a catalyst to accelerate the development of Radisson Hotel Group in Spain, where we currently have eight hotels in operation and now this landmark project under development, as well as some others that we will announce soon.
“We are proud to debut this project alongside Generali, a strategic partner of the group with whom we have already collaborated in Rome and Venice. This will be an iconic hotel in Madrid and a privileged destination for both local and international guests.”
Radisson Collection currently has just over 60 hotels in operation and plans to open additional properties in Budapest, Brussels and Lake Como in Italy during 2025.
