SAS to commence flights to Seoul in 2025
Scandinavian carrier SAS is set to expand its intercontinental network with a new direct route between Copenhagen and Seoul from September 2025.
The new service will commence on 12 September and operate four times weekly during the summer season and three times weekly in winter. It will be the “first-ever” regular direct service between Scandinavia and South Korea, according to the carrier.
SAS president and CEO Anko van der Werff said: “This new route highlights our commitment to meeting customer demand and enhancing connectivity between two dynamic regions. Seoul, renowned as a global centre of culture, innovation and business, is a strategic addition to our growing network.”
Flights will be scheduled with evening departures to “optimise” connectivity within Europe, the carrier said.
The route, subject to final governmental approval, will be operated by Airbus A350 aircraft with capacity for 300 passengers.
Following the launch of its recently-announced direct service to Seattle next May, SAS will connect to 14 intercontinental destinations from its Copenhagen hub.
