Shanghai becomes fourth route for Lufthansa’s Allegris cabins

Lufthansa Airlines has begun operating flights from Munich to Shanghai using Airbus A350-900 aircraft equipped with its new Allegris cabins throughout.

The Chinese city becomes Lufthansa’s fourth destination to benefit from the new experience, following Vancouver, Toronto and Chicago earlier this year.

The aircraft features new Allegris economy, premium economy, business class – where there are multiple seat types – and first class cabins that are described by Lufthansa as “a top-quality product that is unparalleled in the market”. The €2.5 billion upgrade of its long-haul cabins was announced in February 2023.

“Shanghai is currently the first Allegris destination in Asia. We aim to further enhance the customer experience onboard and strengthen our leading position on the China-Europe route,” said Jens Ritter, CEO of Lufthansa Airlines.

“Every guest has their own understanding of premium. This is why with the Allegris range we focus on maximum individuality and exclusivity and premium service along the entire travel chain.”

The airline says that three months since the introduction of Allegris on North America routes, customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
