Spain, Greece and Turkey weather maps turn white as 46C heatwave hits

From Spain to Greece and Turkey, southern Europe is going to swelter next weekend, according to forecasters at WX Charts.

On 19 July, the mercury will be in the high 30s or even north of 40 for millions of people in the south of the continent.

For Brits travelling down to Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey and emerging eastern European holiday favourites like Croatia, it’s advisable to be well prepared for the incredibly hot weather.

According to forecasters, the highest temperatures will be in Spain with the mercury rising as high as 46C next week on July 19.

Models have also shown scorching heat in Greece with temperatures rising as high as 43C in some areas.

Temperatures in parts of Turkey could hit as high as 41C, although most of the country was expected to hover in the mid-to-low 30s.

Whether or not it gets to the mid-40s, it is almost guaranteed to be very hot indeed.

Visitors should be careful not to spend too long in the heat, shade themselves whenever possible, apply plenty of suncream and stay well hydrated.
