Staycity to open fourth Wilde property in London
Aparthotel operator Staycity Group has announced plans to expand its premium Wilde brand in London after acquiring a site in Battersea, near Nine Elms Station, where it plans to develop a new 177-room property.
After purchasing a former three-storey office block for an undisclosed sum, Dublin-based StayCity said it will develop the site in partnership with Citygrove, who will oversee the initial planning and construction of the £70m development,
The aparthotel operator said construction is expected to begin in 2026, with completion in the second half of 2027.
The new Wilde property will offer a mix of studios and one-bedroom apartments with ‘fully-equipped’ kitchens and a ‘modern’ design. Facilities will include a laundry room, 24-hour reception, lounge and bar, a café, pantry and a gym.
Staycity Group’s development director for London, Neil Short, said: “The Nine Elms/ Battersea area has been on Staycity’s target radar following the announcement of the Northern line extension.
“Since the prestigious redevelopment of Battersea Power Station was completed, attracting the relocation of the US embassy and Apple’s European headquarters, it has become one of the most vibrant and active areas of London. We’re excited to be playing a part in its growth story,” he said.
Staycity Group currently operates three Wilde Aparthotels in London – in Aldgate, Covent Garden and Paddington – with additional sites in Berlin, Edinburgh and Manchester as well as an upcoming property in Bordeaux.
