World
This is officially Europe’s best restaurant right now
Despite the tidal wave of ‘modern European’ restaurants cropping up at the moment, the continent’s cuisine can by no means be defined as one. From the griddled fish cooked on the coast of the Med to the hearty pierogi of Poland, Yorkshire puddings to currywurst, European food is full of variety.
That’s why there was such a smorgasbord of brilliant restaurants nominated in the World Culinary Awards for the best European restaurant this year.
Back for its fifth edition, the awards hand out accolades on everything from hotel restaurants to knockout brunches, but one restaurant in Europe stood out to voters as the very best of the best.
Where, you ask? It was Alléno Paris, a sparkling, three Michelin-starred restaurant near the Place de la Concorde in the French capital – sounds like a winner, doesn’t it?
