Travelogix to integrate ChatGPT within data platform

Data analyst Travelogix is to integrate ChatGPT’s artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities within its Analytix data and insights platform.

The company said it would be using ChatGPT’s “large language model” to improve and automate Analytix users’ ability to analyse charts, graphs and data sets.

Travelogix added that this new AI functionality would go through beta testing with a “hand-picked” group of TMCs in the coming months.

“This group will stress-test the capabilities over 12 weeks and provide feedback and analysis to enhance the facilities before a production release,” explained the company in a statement.

Gary Jones, chief technology officer at Travelogix, said the decision to integrate AI capabilities came from its biennial Client Assembly event, which was last held in 2023.

“During the event in September 2023 and the polling that took place, we realised that our comments and observation functions were being severely underutilised,” added Jones.

“We wanted to allow travel managers and bookers to generate analysis quickly and autonomously, giving the user a rich and accurate jumping-off point for interpreting their travel data.

“We are tremendously excited to see its testing results and look forward to seeing our beta testing group stress the facility before we release it for use worldwide.”

TMCs taking part in beta testing of the AI initiative will include UK-based Travel Counsellors for Business and Stewart Travel Management.

Paul Storey, product owner at Travel Counsellors for Business, said: “My decision to participate in this trial stems from my belief in AI’s ability to revolutionise our approach to travel data interpretation.

“I am eager to help shape how these innovative features can improve our reporting capabilities and help us deliver actionable insights to our corporate clients.”
