Travelport upgrades NDC connection with Emirates

Travelport has announced that NDC content and servicing from Dubai-based Emirates is now available through the Travelport+ booking system.

The travel technology firm said the move would allow users of Travelport+ to “easily view and compare” NDC offers. Agents can also service NDC-based bookings including making any modifications and cancellations.

The announcement builds on 2021’s distribution deal between Travelport and Emirates, which gave agents using Travelport’s platforms “simplified access” to the airline’s NDC content.

Adnan Kazim, deputy president and chief commercial officer at Emirates, said: “Agencies using Travelport+ will now have access to better, more enriched content that is only available via the Emirates NDC channel.

“The integration of our systems will strengthen the expansion of our reach across the global travel retail community and allow them to offer travellers more choice among our best-in-class products and services.”

Travelport’s enhanced NDC content and servicing solution for Emirates is initially being launched to agency customers in the UK, Australia, Indonesia and the carrier’s home market of the United Arab Emirates. It will then be rolled out to Travelport users in additional countries in the “coming weeks”.

Jason Clarke, chief commercial officer of travel partners at Travelport, added that the move would allow agents to “compare and book the best offers and ancillaries available from Emirates on Travelport+”.

“This pivotal NDC milestone with Emirates proves Travelport is at the forefront of modern retailing with our ability to provide the best content and cutting-edge tools that agents require to create superior booking and servicing experiences for their customers,” said Clarke.

Last month, corporate travel platform Spotnana announced its own direct NDC integration with Emirates giving it full access to the airline’s content. It also allows Spotnana clients to avoid the surcharge on global distribution system bookings that Emirates introduced in 2021.
