What time the 2024 summer transfer window closes with clubs set to go big

The 2024 summer transfer window will shut TONIGHT as clubs up and down the country race against time to complete their deals.

The winter window was a bit of a damp squib as financial constraints limited the majority of Premier League clubs into doing little business.

The summer transfer window is set to explode now that Euro 2024 and the Copa America are over

But this summer has seen a return of the big-money deals with over £1.5billion spent by top-flight clubs.

And that figure could rise significantly with rumours still surrounding the likes of Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling, Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, James Ward-Prowse, Wilfried Zaha and many more.

But clubs do not have long left to get their business done…

When does the summer transfer window close?

The Premier League summer transfer window is shorter this year, with business ending on Friday, August 30 at 11pm.

The English winter transfer window will then open on New Year’s Day and will run until Monday, February 3, 2025 and close at 11pm.

The top-flight has typically shut its summer market on September 1 but has brought forward Deadline Day to fall in line with other major leagues.

The EFL and Scottish Premiership windows will also shut at 11pm tonight but timings across Europe vary slightly.

Germany’s Bundesliga transfer window shuts at 7pm and in France’s Ligue 1 the deadline is 10pm.

Clubs can do business in Spain’s LaLiga until 10.59pm while Serie A’s deadline is also 11pm in Italy.

However, nations like Saudi Arabia and Turkey often extend their trading period.

Saudi clubs can sign players until September 2 while the Turkish Super Lig window is open until September 13.
