Which Bundesliga clubs have qualified for Europe in 2024/25?
Eight Bundesliga clubs will have a shot at European football in 2024/25, with at least five in the UEFA Champions League…
UEFA Champions League
The exploits of Bundesliga teams in Europe this season means German clubs have earned an extra berth in the new-format Champions League. As a result, the top five all qualified for the competition.
1st: Bayer Leverkusen (90pts, GD +65)
2nd: VfB Stuttgart (73pts, GD +39)
3rd: Bayern Munich (72pts, GD +49)
4th: RB Leipzig (65pts, GD +38)
5th: Borussia Dortmund (63pts, GD +25)

6th: Eintracht Frankfurt (47pts, GD +1)
Dortmund received the plaudits after they beat Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League semi-final first leg to get the Bundesliga over the line and secure an extra ‘European Performance Spot’, also confirming their own 2024/25 qualification in the process.
It could still be six teams who earn a place in the Champions League, too. If Dortmund win the competition, then they will qualify as holders, and the next best-placed Bundesliga team, namely Eintracht Frankfurt, will take the extra berth. The Eagles will thus be watching on with huge interest when BVB face Real Madrid at Wembley on 1 June.

UEFA Europa League
6th: Eintracht Frankfurt (47pts, GD +1)
7th: Hoffenheim (46pts, GD 0)
The extra position for collective performance in European competitions means that things shift down one spot in the table.
Therefore, sixth goes directly into the Europa League, along with the winner of the DFB Cup. However, as Leverkusen won a domestic double, seventh-placed Hoffenheim also go into the Europa League alongside Frankfurt.
As mentioned above, if Dortmund also win the Champions League, then things change again as Frankfurt will go into the Champions League. The Europa League berths do not shift down again, meaning Hoffenheim would be the Bundesliga’s sole representative in that competition.

UEFA Conference League play-offs
8th: Heidenheim (42pts, GD -5)
_______________________________
9th: Werder Bremen (42pts, GD -6)
10th: Freiburg (42pts, GD -13)
Thanks to Leverkusen, Heidenheim – having finished their debut Bundesliga season above Werder Bremen and Freiburg on goal difference – will contest the Europa Conference League play-off. This position is not affected by the result of the Champions League final.
