Zenmer launches AI tool following TMC beta tests

Travel technology provider Zenmer has developed a generative AI assistant to help business travellers and advisors with travel booking and support, the company announced.

The tool, Zenia, enables natural language search for travel, and is integrated with Zenmer’s other products including its online booking tool, agent desktop and mid-office system.

Both travel advisors and travellers can request quotes for trips via email and get a response with one-click booking, without needing to get back on the booking tool. Zenmer plans to later add capabilities on WhatsApp, Slack and Teams, the company said.

Zenia can also provide trip support such as information on directions, weather or visa restrictions based on the trip information. It can use the traveller’s profile, loyalty programme memberships and company policies to align bookings with traveller needs, though it will not use personal data without explicit consent, according to Zenmer.

The tool “performs every task seamlessly,” Zenmer CEO Nikunj Agrawal said in a statement. “Just say ‘book cheapest class [British Airways] fares,’ and it does the rest for you. It will also advise and book airport transfer options and let you know if visa restrictions apply.”

Zenmer has been running beta tests for Zenia with a handful of travel management companies, including India-based TMCs Aman Travels, Global eTravel Solutions and Suwyyn Travel Solutions.

Zenmer utilises an open API infrastructure and is connected to Amadeus, Travelport and Sabre distribution systems as well as 25 aggregators. It also has NDC connections with more than 20 airlines, according to the company.
